Terms & Conditions of Sale

Harrington Windows

At Harrington Windows, we believe in keeping things simple, transparent, and stress-free. Our terms and conditions are designed to ensure a smooth and fair process for all our customers.

A. Orders and Contract

  • We will manufacture windows and doors based on the specifications agreed upon in the signed manufacturing order.

  • For supply-only contracts, customers must provide accurate measurements and specifications for all products, ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations. We are not responsible for defects arising from incorrect details provided by the customer. Additional components such as trickle vents, fire escape hinges, or other extras are not included unless specified. Please consult your local authorities or building control officer for guidance.

  • Supply-only customers requiring finishing products (e.g., trims, architraves, sealants) must request these at the time of order.

  • We reserve the right to make changes to product specifications to comply with legal, safety, or manufacturing requirements, provided these do not materially affect quality or performance.

  • Estimated lead times are subject to final approval, payment, and supplier schedules. Delays in approvals or changes to the signed order may impact delivery dates. We are not liable for any losses caused by delivery or installation delays.

B. Survey

  1. Customers must be present during the survey to approve the details. If unavailable, a representative or builder may approve the survey on your behalf, or approval may be given via email.

  2. If additional work is identified during the survey, we will notify you of any additional costs.

  3. For supply-only contracts, we offer a survey service for £450 + VAT (excluding excess mileage). Sites must be ready for survey measurements.

C. Installation and Delivery

  • Harrington Windows will use reasonable efforts to deliver products and complete installations as agreed, but time is not of the essence. We are not liable for delays.

  • For supply-only contracts, customers are responsible for unloading and inspecting goods upon delivery. Any damage must be reported within 24 hours.

  • Refusal to accept delivery may incur storage fees of up to 0.625% per week of the net goods value.

  • For staged installations, full payment for each stage is required upon completion before proceeding to the next stage.

  • Free, uninterrupted site access is required for installation. Customers are responsible for removing obstacles such as furniture, carpets, blinds, and tiles. We are not liable for any damage caused during removal or installation.

  • Parking permits for restricted areas must be arranged by the customer. Additional costs, including “Pay and Display” charges, will be added to the final balance if applicable.

  • Installation covers standard finishes only. Specialist finishes, such as lime or pebble dash, are not included.

  • Post-installation inspections must be conducted within 24 hours. Any issues reported after this period will be considered outside the scope of the installation service.

D. Payment

  1. A 25% deposit is due upon order placement, with a further 25% payment required after the survey and prior to production. The final 50% is due 7 days before installation.

  2. For supply-only contracts, 50% is due upon order placement and 50% before delivery.

  3. Payments must be made in full without any deductions, withholdings, or offsets.

  4. Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the base rate of National Westminster Bank Plc, compounded monthly.

  5. Ownership of goods remains with Harrington Windows until full payment is received.

E. Guarantees and Warranties

  • Guarantee documents are issued upon completion and full payment.

  • Modifying or altering products voids the guarantee.

  • Windows and doors installed by Harrington Windows come with a 5-year warranty, while supply-only contracts are covered by a 2-year warranty. These warranties cover construction and glazing tightness. Specialist glass and hardware have limited coverage.

  • Guarantees are subject to compliance with Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) standards.

F. Cancellation of Orders

  1. Customers may cancel contracts without penalty up to 24 hours before a scheduled surveyor appointment.

  2. Cancellations after the survey but before production will incur a £450 + VAT survey fee.

  3. Cancellation requests should be sent via email or recorded post to hello@harringtonwindows.com.

G. Cancellation of Installation

  • Installations canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled date will incur full costs for lost time.

  • Cancellations with less than 72 hours’ notice will incur a 50% fitting cost charge. We will do our best to accommodate rescheduling requests.
